Parks and Recreation teams across Arizona know that summer season brings big programs, big hiring needs, and big demands on staff. That’s why we’re gathering in the Town of Marana for a one-day professional development event focused on training, preparation, and staff wellness—built specifically for frontline staff, coordinators, supervisors, and middle managers.
Location: Town of Marana
Event Theme: Preparing for Summer – Programs, People, and Preventing Burnout
Kick off the morning with an opening panel discussion featuring Parks and Recreation directors from Arizona’s South Region. Hear their perspectives on staffing hurdles, seasonal onboarding, operational readiness, and maintaining quality service throughout peak months.
From there, choose from multiple breakout sessions designed to strengthen your team culture and seasonal performance, including:
🔹 Front-Line Staff & Customer Service Training – building confidence, communication, and first-impression impact
🔹 Maintaining Staff Morale & Avoiding Burnout – practical tools to support team wellness through the busiest months
We’ll also host roundtables dedicated to aquatics and youth programming, giving you space to swap strategies, troubleshoot challenges, and crowdsource solutions with peers.
Plus—don’t miss a guided tour of the brand-new Marana Aquatics and Recreation Center, showcasing facility features, design highlights, and programming potential.
Whether you supervise seasonal staff, run camps, manage facilities, or support aquatics, this event is your chance to prepare early, learn from others, and head into summer with confidence.
*This event is available for 0.4 CEUs (complete during registration).
