Often, successful programs and staff are an organization’s best kept secret. But, the benefits of widespread celebration are invaluable to an organization and its people. Professionals need to prioritize the recognition of the successful people and programs in their organizations. Learn why we should celebrate staff, volunteers, and participants. The benefits at the individual, organizational and public level will be debated. Explore the use of technology, media, and events to celebrate in the public eye and generate a PR buzz as well. You will leave committed to renewing recognition efforts in your agency.

He has received numerous state and national awards for his innovative leadership and commitment to excellence.

Sven Leff – General Manager; Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District, California

Having presented at NRPA, state and regional conferences since 2010, Sven’s focus as a speaker is on building people with the character, tools, and continual learning experiences to do what they love and love what they do. In his 35+ year career Sven has worked in several distinctly different communities: from Bay Area and Central Coast towns in California to the metro suburbs and the north woods of Minnesota, mountain resort towns in California and Colorado, and urban Nevada and Iowa cities. This diverse background has allowed him to discover best practices and learn from failed strategies. He holds an MBA and the CPRE certification, is a Past-President of the Nevada Recreation & Park Society and served 7 years on the NRPA Conference Committee.
